Terms and Conditions

We try to do business based on trust, working with honest principles and putting the customer first.  In order to ensure that there is clarity on how we will trade with our customers, we have drawn up the following Terms and Conditions.  Please contact us if anything is unclear.

The following terms form the basis of Airfield Classic Cars Ltd’s trading agreement with customers.  All work commissioned with Airfield Classic Cars Ltd is based on the understanding and agreement of these terms and conditions, on a contractual basis.

Section 1: Rates and Payment Terms

1.1 Unless otherwise specified and agreed in advance, the customer will be charged at Airfield Classic Cars Ltd hourly rate of £55.00 per hour, per employee, plus all parts, materials, consumables and any other specialist items required; plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Discounts are available for larger projects etc.
1.2 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd minimum charge for work is £13.75p for 15 minutes, per employee; plus VAT at the prevailing rate. All Airfield Classic Cars Ltd labour charges will be calculated to the nearest 15 minutes.
1.3 Supplied estimates or quotes by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd are valid for 30 days from the date on the estimate or quote.
1.4 Estimates supplied by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd are based solely on the inspection of the vehicle and/or the provided accurate and available information on the date of viewing. It is the customer’s responsibility to supply accurate and honest information if a viewing is not possible to allow Airfield Classic Cars Ltd to provide an accurate estimate. The supplied estimate may change once work has commenced and the overall condition of the vehicle and components have been inspected in further detail.
1.5 Any changes, alterations or additional work required over and above that specified in the original estimate to the customer by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd, will be charged at Airfield Classic Cars Ltd hourly rate of £55.00 per hour (unless agreed otherwise in advance), per employee, plus all parts, materials, consumables and any other specialist items required; plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Any additional work and items will be itemised in the final invoice.
1.6 Any job classed as ‘fault finding’ or ‘problem solving’ will be charged at Airfield Classic Cars Ltd hourly rate of £55.00 per hour (unless agreed otherwise in advance), per employee, plus all parts, materials, consumables and any other specialist items required; plus VAT at the prevailing rate.  All additional work will be itemised in the final invoice.
1.7 If the customer requests changes to the original request/specification following completion of the work, these changes will be charged at Airfield Classic Cars Ltd hourly rate of £55.00 per hour (unless agreed otherwise in advance), per employee, plus all parts, materials, consumables and any other specialist items required; plus VAT at the prevailing rate.
1.8 All collection/delivery of vehicles from/to an address within 100 mile radius (as measured by shortest route on Google Maps) of Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will be free of charge, provided that the customer agrees for work to be carried out by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.  In the event that the customer does not wish to proceed with the work, then Airfield Classic Cars Ltd reserves the right to charge for the fuel costs incurred during collection/delivery.
1.9 All collection/delivery of vehicles from/to an address over 100 mile radius (as measured by shortest route on Google Maps) from Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will be charged for the fuel costs incurred during collection/delivery.  This charge will be added to the final invoice.
1.10 All postage or courier charges associated with parts will be itemised and added to the final invoice.
1.11 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will endeavour to finish the work in the timescales agreed with the customer at the start of the project.  However, due to the complex nature of classic car restoration, maintenance and repair, Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accepts no responsibility for delays due to additional labour, parts, materials, consumables and any other specialist items required.
1.12 Due to the high demand of work and limited workshop space, Airfield Classic Cars Ltd requests that customers collect their car within 7 calendar days of receipt of the final invoice.
1.13 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd terms of payment are strictly within 7 calendar days of invoicing date.  The vehicle will not be released for collection or delivery until the payment has been received by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.  If the invoice is for a stage payment, work on the vehicle will halt until such time as the payment has been received.
1.14 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accepts payments by bank transfer or credit/debit card. Our preferred method of payment is bank transfer. All payments must be cleared on every occasion before the vehicle can be collected or delivered.
1.15 All payments to Airfield Classic Cars Ltd are to be in Pounds Stirling (GBP £).  Foreign or overseas currency payments may be made with Airfield Classic Cars Ltd agreement in advance, but will incur an additional charge to the customer to cover administration costs and exchange rate/bank charges.
1.16 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd liability is limited to the final value fee of the contract.

Section 2: Warranty on Restorations, Maintenance and Repair

2.1 All Airfield Classic Cars Ltd work carries a full 6 month warranty (beginning from the date of final invoice). Should any issues arise within the 6 month warranty period, Airfield Classic Cars Ltd warranty will cover any defective parts/components. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will accept no responsibility for damage caused by the customer before or after collection/delivery. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd warranty excludes defects which are caused by extreme environmental or poor storage conditions to which the vehicle may be exposed. It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain and protect the paintwork of his/her vehicle once a re-spray has been completed and left our premises. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accepts no responsibility for stone chips, scratches or dents to the vehicle once the vehicle has left the premises.
2.2 Any tampering (modifications, enhancements, removal, separation) of any of the restoration works carried out by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd by either the owner or specialist other than Airfield Classic Cars Ltd invalidates all guarantee/warranty of the work carried out by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.
2.3 Under no circumstance does Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accept any responsibility for damage or misadventure once the customer’s vehicle has left our premises. Any damage or misadventure invalidates any warranty/guarantee by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.  See also 2.9.
2.4 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd does not accept any responsibility for the way a customer stores or maintains his/her car that may affect the quality and life of the restoration works completed.
2.5 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd is not a parts manufacture/supplier and purchases all of its parts as required from a variety of parts suppliers.  Where possible Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will use as many of the customers original parts to retain as many original features of the car. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accepts no responsibility for original parts missing or that are damaged, unusable or unable to be restored upon arrival. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will replace all parts as deemed necessary from the customer’s vehicle to complete the job correctly, safely and to a high standard.
2.6 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd insists on using the best quality parts available and we draw on our experience for obtaining and using the best quality parts for our jobs. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd accepts no responsibility for ill-fitting parts/components where an alternative is unavailable.
2.7 Any parts purchased by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd on behalf of the customer and found to be faulty must be returned to Airfield Classic Cars Ltd with 30 days of the final invoice date to receive an exchange/refund.
2.8 Additional labour charges may be applied to any supplied labour figures should any issues arise when fitting/installing parts supplied by customers. Airfield Classic Cars Ltd will not be held accountable or offer any form of warranty that may arise after fitting parts or materials supplied by customers.
2.9 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd does not offer any warranty for work carried out on cars competing in MSA, FIA, HERO, FIVA, test meetings, test days, track days, Race/Rally or any equivalent competition events.
2.10 All engine, gearbox and transmission work completed by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd comes with a 6 month or 6,000 mile warranty (whichever is sooner). Any tampering, modifications, enhancements, removal, separation of the engine, gearbox or transmission by either the owner or specialist other than ourselves invalidates the warranty of the work carried out by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.
2.11 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd does not accept any responsibility for the condition of the customer’s vehicle when received by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.

Section 3: Car Sales

3.1 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd offers cars for sale on behalf of private sellers.
3.2 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd sales fee for selling a vehicle on behalf of a private seller is 7.5% of the agreed sale figure; plus VAT at the prevailing rate.
3.3 It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle purchased is of the correct documentation and ownership.  Buying a vehicle is ultimately the decision of the buyer and not of Airfield Classic Cars Ltd.  The integrity of the vehicle is for the buyer to re-assure themselves of and Airfield Classic Cars Ltd cannot provide assurances or a guarantee.
3.4 A deposit of 10% of the agreed sale figure must be received before the vehicle will be classed as sold.
3.5 All deposits of sales are non-refundable.
3.6 The outstanding balance of sale must be received within 14 days after the received date of deposit. After 14 days the non-refundable deposit becomes void and the vehicle re-advertised.
3.7 It is strict company policy that the outstanding balance of sale must be received and cleared in Airfield Classic Cars Ltd account before the vehicle leaves Airfield Classic Cars Ltd premises either being collected by or delivered to the customer.
3.8 All vehicles offered for sale by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd on behalf of private sellers are classed as sold as seen. No warranty or guarantee is supplied with any such vehicle sold, unless specified in the details for that particular car.
3.9 Although every effort would have been made to ensure the accuracy of the particulars, no responsibility is taken for error, omission or miss-statement or imperfections not stated for cars for sale by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd. Buyers should satisfy themselves pre-purchase of the condition and provenance of any car for sale by Airfield Classic Cars Ltd and on their own judgment satisfy themselves as to whether the car accords to its description or not.

Section 4: Intellectual Property

4.1 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd photos, written documentation and trading logos remain the copyright of Airfield Classic Cars Ltd and their author.  Replication and copying either in part or in full, whether by audio, written, drawn and/or electronically reproduced or displayed may infringe current copyright laws.  Permission to use or reproduce Airfield Classic Cars Ltd work and/or logos must be obtained in writing.
4.2 Airfield Classic Cars Ltd reserves the right to use any/all photographs or videos and other media of customers’ cars whilst in Airfield Classic Cars Ltd possession for either marketing or social media purposes unless specified in writing before the vehicles arrival.
